Rebecca Severs

Owner & Cake Designer

After working as an editor in legal publishing and then leaving my career to look after our three daughters, the idea of setting up a home baking business was born. A baking enthusiast since toddlerhood, it's been so exciting and exhilarating to turn a passion into a business.

I love the creative side of my job, from designing cakes through to putting the finishing touches to the sugar flowers on a gorgeous wedding cake. I feel so honoured that I get to be a part of some of the most special days of your lives and help make them even more amazing!

I also really enjoy running a business and all the challenges and achievements that come with that. I'm so excited that our shop in Keighley has finally come to life in the last few months!

Baker

My mum taught me how to bake from as long as I can remember. We used to make cakes together and she would always make our birthday cakes... and then I took over!

At Three Little Birds I make cakes, caramel, buttercream, ganache and curds. I enjoy making everything, especially fillings like salted caramel.

I'm planning to go to Art College next year and then university and hopefully become an artist. I'm also buying a Campervan...

I'd love to own my own bakery one day when I'm older!

Bakery Manager

The first cake I ever made was our wedding cake. After that I was bitten by the baking bug. I'm 45 and have a wonderful husband, four pretty fantastic children, three fish, a crazy cat called Monty and a puppy called Gable. Life at home is a whirlwind of after school clubs, football weekends, and non-stop chaos. Our home is crazy loud and sometime I need ear plugs!

I love the theatre, especially feel good musicals and ballets. I can ballroom dance and I'm also an amateur photographer when time allows. I'm ridiculously organised; I make lists everyday that feel so good to get checked off. I love entertaining, and revel in being the hostess with the mostess! Food is life and if I don't get to eat out once in a while I am prone to sulks!

A happy family life is everything to me and being able to work alongside being a parent is invaluable to me, doing a job I love, maintaining my independence and learning new skills and meeting lots of lovely people along the way.

Wedding Cake Deliveries / Bakery Assistant

Baking has been a hobby of mine since childhood and I have always been in awe of contemporary cake designers.

I've been setting up wedding cakes for Three Little Birds Bakery since February 2022. I really enjoy the creativity involved in decorating the cakes with flowers and all the beautiful venues I get to visit! It's such a good feeling once the cake is set up, knowing that it's going to be an important part of the wedding day.

I'm looking forward to getting involved with the baking side of things, especially learning how to make flowers from sugar paste and painting flowers using buttercream; I studied surface design at university so I'm hoping I'll be able to put my artistic skills to good use!

My role at Three Little Birds offers a lot of flexibility so fits around my family life perfectly - it's a fantastic team to be a part of and I feel lucky to be able to work alongside people so passionate about what they do.
